KANAPUR, India — India’s government has announced that it has extended the deadline for completing the mandatory national entrance exam for students studying in colleges and universities in Chennai.
According to the announcement, the exam has been extended until March 28, 2019.
According the government, the deadline has been pushed back to March 29, 2019 as the national elections are expected to take place in 2019.
The announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, and was accompanied by the signing of an agreement by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
The agreement states that the National Entry Test will be extended to March 28.
India has a total of 2,076,829 people studying in college and universities, of which 3,091,944 are studying in the top-tier colleges.
